Bionet

Bionet is creating an open technology foundation that enables scalable peer-to-peer exchange and provenance tracking for materials used throughout biomedical research.  Our goal is to reduce transaction costs associated with inventory tracking, sample replication, and shipping and receiving by combining modern information technologies with newly available and affordable open source automation platforms.  We are also developing a property rights framework that will enable sharing and reuse of biomaterials without triggering extra-bionet transaction costs.
